Our research networks allow us to share experiences and knowledge on environmental sustainability, physical and computational chemistry and energy analysis and life cycle assessment, thanks to collaborations with people, laboratories, national and international research groups and companies operating in the research & development field.
The R2ES Lab research group, together with other researchers working on environmental assessment and LCA, founded LifeCARES srl (Life Cycle Assessment, Renewable Energy and Sustainability), a start-up affiliated with the University of Siena. LifeCARES is active in the field of environmental sustainability, and it offers high-quality services in environmental consulting to private and public companies, following the most recognized international standards.
The Centre for Hybrid and Organic Solar Energy (CHOSE) was founded in order to create a center of excellence in the field of next-generation photovoltaics. The main goal of CHOSE is in the development of manufacturing processes for organic and hybrid organic/inorganic solar devices, the definition of a process for industrialization and technology transfer.
The main mission of the Institute for the Chemistry of OrganoMetallic Compounds (CNR-ICCOM)is the development of basic and applied research, with the aim of consolidating the institute as a center of scientific research in molecular sciences. Its fields of application are the sustainability of innovative chemical process, the application of electrocatalysis and photocatalysis in the energy sector, the hydrogen and carbon dioxide chemistry and technologies, photovoltaic solar cells and so on.
The Italian LCA Network is an association that acts as a point of reference in Italy for the main operators in the field of methodologies and approaches of Life Cycle Thinking (LCT) and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). In particular, the Association promotes both the dissemination of the methodology at the national level and the exchange of application experiences aimed at supporting the life cycle approach.
